Blue Hill Bank of Dorchester is built.

1872

Designed in the Greek Revival style with Victorian Gothic materials, it is located on the former site of the Brewer Mansion at 1110 Washington Street. The bank moves to Milton in 1882, and the building is acquired by the first, first as the home of Station 11 of the Police Department, then as the Lower Mills Branch Library until the 1970s. The building is subsequently converted into a private residence.
